Linger & Learn

With important moments in history, we are suppose to linger in the moment and take it all in. And I f we are going to think about big moments, not only personally, but in terms of world history, there is no bigger moment that what we have here—Jesus on the cross! There is arguably no greater moment in all of history, than Jesus Christ dying upon the cross for our sins! And if we are to understand how momentous of an even this, then we need to linger here for at least a little while longer. Yes, two weeks ago we heard a messages addresses the main idea and direction of this passage, but we would do ourselves well in recognition of this “earth-shattering” (metaphorically & literally an earthquake happened here) to linger on in our text a bit more today.
