Fall Discipleship Opportunities

We have some tremendous Men’s and Women’s discipleship opportunities coming up this Fall at the Kirk. Check out the listing below:

WOMEN'S TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY

Call it a Bible Study, a prayer group, a fellowship time, or whatever, it’s all that in one! These ladies are serious about growing in the grace of the Lord and are led by some wonderful ladies, one of which is our Woman’s Ministry Coordinator, Kate Dyer. They meet weekly at the church on Tuesday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and childcare for ages 0-6 is provided. For this first semester, they are looking at the Book of 1 Peter.  If you are interested please reach out directly to Kate or send an email to kirkoffice@kirkpca.org. And yes, like last year we will have a virtual option for persons who request it!

WOMEN'S TUESDAY EVENING STUDY (NEW)

We a great new evening option for ladies starting September 6. Lead by another wonderful lady, Wendy Nichols, this study will meet in the church conference room on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. They will be looking Mark Vroegop’s consideration of the Psalms of Lament in his Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy. To ask more about it or to get a book, just reach out directly to Wendy or send us an email at kirkoffice@kirkpca.org. Please also speak to Wendy if you would like for there to be a virtual option to join in.

and now to the men…since everyone else is meeting Tuesday mornings, so why not…

MEN’S TUESDAY MORNING ‘MORE’ COHORT

Men need time together too, to encourage one another, to read and challenge one another with Scripture, to grow in the grace of Jesus, and to fellowship together. We also want to get more out of our relationships at home, at church, with friends, and with the Lord. So, starting also on September 6, our Pastor, Pete Whitney, will be gather men early on Tuesday mornings and leading a series of studies and group prayer on Christian fellowship and discipleship, alternating between Books of the Bible and books on Bible teaching. But then for that fourth meeting of the month (because you have to have that 4th meeting), we will gather for a weekend activity, perhaps to go to a sports game, take an exploration hike, learn to surf, or something like that! And because most men have varying schedules, we are going to offer two meeting times for this cohort: One group will meet from 6:45-7:30 a.m. and the second will be just fifteen minutes later from 7:45-8:30 a.m. But for the once a month weekend activity, we will all gather together. If you are interested, please let Pete know or email kirkoffice@kirkpca.org.

and then, don’t forget about the…

MEN'S WEDNESDAY MORNING PRAYER

Men, another great option to consider is the Wednesday morning prayer group that meets at 6:30 a.m. These men have been meeting for more than two years and have been used by the Lord to pray down showers of blessings upon our church. They take time to share and encourage one another, and then they get down to the business of prayer. This group offers both an in-person and call-in option. If you would like to learn more about this group, please speak to either Walter Ballew or Kelly Frick, or alternatively you can email kirkoffice@kirkpca.org.

and lastly, we also have our…

MEN’S SATURDAY MORNING BREAKFAST

Shared over a home-cooked breakfast, this great group of men gather once a month to reflect, discuss, and pray over the content and teaching of Scripture. Bringing along with them their young ‘men’ (boys), they seek to cultivate and influence the next generation. Led by one of our church officers, Dan Opazo, this groups is presently considering Thomas Watson’s A Godly Man’s Picture. Please speak with Dan to find out more, or email our church office.
