Worship & Fellowship

Let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker

We would love to meet you! We invite you to join us for worship as we glorify our Lord, Jesus Christ, and have our faith strengthened through the reading, preaching, hearing, praying, and seeing of God’s word. The following is our list of regular gatherings for worship, teaching, and fellowship.

  • Sunday School from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Sunday Morning Worship begins at 11:00 a.m.
  • Sunday Evening Worship begins at 5:00 p.m.
  • Grilling’ on the Grounds (1st and 3rd Sundays) Meal after evening worship service

WHAT TO EXPECT

At the Kirk, we offer a morning worship service and an evening service each Sunday. Our Morning Worship Service begins at 11 a.m. and our Evening Worship Service begins at 5 p.m. All our worship services last between an hour and an hour and fifteen minutes. On Communion Sundays, we spend a little more time to fellowship at the Lord’s Table, and the service lasts at least an hour and a fifteen minutes. At present, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper twice monthly, once on the first Sunday in the Morning Services and then also on the third Sunday during the Evening Service.

How We Worship

We are called to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. To that end, every part of our worship is rooted in the Holy Scripture - what we read, pray, sing, preach and see. Our worship incorporates elements from both the ancient church and the modern one, and this is reflected in our liturgy, prayer, music, and preaching. Our sermons typically work through a whole book of the Bible, week by week and passage by passage in an expository manner.

Our Children

At The Kirk, we take joy in having our children join us in our worship service. We believe this honors Christ’s command to “let the children come to me” and helps lay an early foundation for a love of corporate worship as they grow. We also understand that sometimes families may need other arrangements, so we provide a cry room as well as a volunteer-led nursery for those under the age of four.

Attire

Our congregation attends in a wide variety of attire, from shorts and jeans to dresses and suits. We encourage you to dress comfortably with your heart reverent and prepared for joyful and solemn worship.

Fellowship

Every First and Third Sunday we set aside time after our evening service to gather on our back lawn to enjoy food, fellowship, and some fun. We wear comfortable clothing and bring our lawn chairs and our blankets to take in the beauty of God’s creation under our lighted oak canopy. We eat a light meal, watch the children play, and sing songs of praise and thanksgiving to the Lord.
